How Snap-In Technology WorksUpdated 10 months ago

Snapping the fin in:

  • Line up the fine base tabs in the openings of the fin box (perpendicular to your board, not at an angle). Both tabs are engaged at the same time by pushing the top of the fin straight down into the box. The back tabs of the fin base will slide down the ramps in the fin box which will engage SpringLock pressure plate.
  • Fins: Made from Fiberglass, and honeycomb composite.
  • Once the fin is pushed down to the fin base, the SpringLock will push the fin back to its locked position where fin tabs are connected with the locking pins in the fin box. The Spring maintains a constant pressure on your fin base to keep it secure to your board.
  • Stainless Steel Spring: Corrosion-resistant springs from marine-grade, stainless-steel that maintains a constant pressure and will outlast the life of your surfboard.
  • To ensure your fin is securely locked in place before surfing you can give the front of your fin where it meets the board a slight push back and then check by pulling straight up on your fin making sure it doesn't move. The trailing edge of your fin will also be lined up with the shapers dot when properly locked in.
  • Locking Pin: When the fin is engaged with the SpringLock technology, the fins are locked in and ready for any surfing condition.

Removing your fin:

  • When the back of the fin (trailing edge) meets the board you push or pull straight forward towards the nose of the surfboard.
  • Fin Box: Made of high performance, glass-fiber reinforced, engineering-grade plastic
  • Once the fin base clears the locking pins in the fin box you can then gently lift the fin out or rotate it out of your board. Your fins will be very secured locked to your board so if you're unsure how much pressure to use to slide it forward you can wrap a beach towel around the back edge of your fin before popping it out to not damage your board or your hand.
  • Fin Box: The fin box is optimized to use the shortest possible length to enable a more natural flex pattern in the tail of the board.
